Lazy post
♥ Mari
This is a lazy post.. because I'm super exhausted from school.. because the organization and everything is a little ridiculous.. but I thought my blog deserved a post. I've just felt a bit silly lately. Ugh.

Much Love Monday
I love drawing with scented markers:) It makes me thing of that kind of kindergarten, I can tell that we are going to be friends, crayons and rainbows and dinosaurs kind of innocence. Which reminds me that school is finally starting tomorrow.. So I must say that my blogging with inevitably become more lackadaisical and sporadic because of this, and I apologize in advance..
Things I am loving on this Much Love Monday:
♥ late night phone calls with best friends, even it they're sad ♥ people who look like contestants from So You Think You Can Dance ♥ laughter ♥ 4 year old goof troops ♥ school finally starting ♥ teenagers who agree that teacher striking is stupid ♥ magazines the come on the day you hope they do ♥ thinking of the perfect birthday present ♥ buying chocolate for best friends ♥ boycotting Facebook for the time being ♥ The Secret Life of Bees [read it!] ♥ movie days with my sister ♥ Pacific northwest rain ♥ ridiculously late sleepovers ♥ Invader Zim ♥ 4 year old birthdays ♥ best friend sleepover dance combos ♥ Mt. It was one hundred degrees
as we sat beneath a willow tree
whose tears didn't care
they just hung in the air,
and refused to fall, to fall.
And you can't find nothing at all
if there was nothing there all along.
There were churches, theme parks and malls,
but there was nothing there all along.

Revised note to self:
I got sick of looking at the old fail note to self I made. So I made a new one because I still find this quote particularly relevant.

Much Love Monday:)
Today I am loving sketching and watercolors:) I decided to dig out my mom's old ones instead of waiting to buy pencils. And I was really excited so if you notice some crooked lines and messy painting jobs that's why. Also it was my first time trying to seriously maneuver watercolors on brushes that I'm not too fond of anymore. See, the sketches are little, and the brushes are big[ger, they aren't really big, big] I just need to teach myself how to use them better:)
These are the ones that I got inspiration from Marc Johns, that I was talking about before.
Other things I am loving on this Much Love Monday:
♥ best friends ♥ impromptu play dates ♥ venting ♥ sweaters on a rainy day ♥ the last bits of summer ♥ new friends ♥ inside jokes ♥ sideways smiley faces:) ♥ saving good/funny/cute/day making texts to reread when I'm feeling silly ♥ Sheena from The Layered Pancake for featuring my photos! ♥ shadow puppet chinchillas ♥ best friend shenanigans ♥ texting until the wee hours of the morning ♥ best friend birthdays ♥ creating something and not feeling like I have to explain it ♥ being done with summer homework so I can relax for two days before school starts ♥ early morning seminary because I'm a nerd ♥ boys that say 'omg' ♥

Life is a love song.
This is me experimenting with fonts and quotes and placement on my photos. I couldn't decide which one to post, so I posted both:)
So I've been working on some new sketches that I am VERY excited about which I have drawn inspiration from Marc Johns. But I want to wait to post them until I get some watercolor pencils and get some color on them. I just thought I'd let everyone know that more sketches are on the way!!

Dear Mari,
I love you, and I hope that your life becomes everything you ever hoped for it now. We have many great years ahead of us, and I am so excited for you. Heavenly Father loves you, and is proud of you. I hope you remember this day for the rest of your life and you can remain strong. You inspire me everyday with your faith. I'll always be here for you. I am excited and I cannot wait until you feel everything that this life has to offer to you.
Love,
Kaylyn♥

I am thinking it's a sign..
I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images and when
we kiss they're perfectly aligned.
And I have to speculate that God himself
did make us into corresponding shapes like
puzzle pieces from the clay.
we kiss they're perfectly aligned.
And I have to speculate that God himself
did make us into corresponding shapes like
puzzle pieces from the clay.
And true, it may seem like a stretch, but its thoughts like this that catch my troubled
head when you're away when I am missing you to death.
When you are out there on the road for
several weeks of shows and when you scan
the radio, I hope this song will guide you home.
head when you're away when I am missing you to death.
When you are out there on the road for
several weeks of shows and when you scan
the radio, I hope this song will guide you home.
They will see us waving from such great heights,
"Come down now," they'll say.
But everything looks perfect from far away,
"Come down now," but we'll stay..
But everything looks perfect from far away,
"Come down now," but we'll stay..
I tried my best to leave this all on your machine, but the persistent beat it sounded
thin upon listening.
And that frankly will not fly. You will hear
the shrillest highs and lowest lows with
the windows down when this is guiding you home.

Quotes of the day.
So yesterday I was looking at my sister's blog, and clicked on the 'quote of the day' tag and reminisced about all of our family sillinesses:) So I decided to include all of the best ones in today's post.
♥
Thane: "We're not here to argue; we're here to trade Tiddly-Winks."
Andrea {playing guitar hero on too hard of a level}:
"This is the sound of my face exploding."
Thane: "And of all things, it's 'La Bamba.'"
Andrea: "This snow is bouncy! It's bouncing off the windshield!"
Kaylyn: "It's frozen rain."
Andrea (in denial): "Shh. It's snow."
Kaylyn: "Wow, this snow is bouncy!"
Andrea: "I wonder how many Rubik's Cubes have been returned because customers thought they were defective?"
TV: "Critics say Leverage is better than the last two Ocean's Eleven movies..."
Thane: "But not the first one. That goes without saying."
Mom {talking about American Idol}: "The Osmond has to go through."
Andrea: "Yeah, or else there would be a Mormon uprising."
Kaylyn: "Yeah. We'd swarm."
Kaylyn [updating on American Idol from the night before, which Andrea didn't get to watch]:
"He didn't wear nail polish or eyeliner, but he was still wearing mascara."
Andrea: "How could you tell?"
Kaylyn: "His bottom lashes were very...defined."
Andrea: "Maybe he's born with it."
Kaylyn: "No, I'm pretty sure it's Maybelline."
Kaylyn: "Rrrrggghh! [pause] ...that was my soul talking."
Blake: We're boys from the same family.
Thane: We're brothers.
Blake: That's what I just said.
Thane: Don't make me stick my lollipop to your face.
Thane: We're brothers.
Blake: That's what I just said.
Thane: Don't make me stick my lollipop to your face.

Fall is here, hear the yell.
White Stripes, playgrounds, crunchy leaves, apples, and the last living flower... Yesterday is the first day all summer it has rained; really rained, not just sprinkling, not just a random hardcore storm. Just big ol' fat rain. I've been doing summer homework.. school starts in one week.. *sigh* Fall is here..
I can tell that we are going to be friends:)
